  • Nokia 5800 review

Nokia 5800 is a very smart phone with great functionality. My favorite is the recognize your handwriting feature.
    Also the design is stylish.

The minus of this phone is the camera: only 3.2 Megapixel without self timer and zoom.

    Nokia N810

    Nokia Phone

    Nokia N810

    Nokia N810

Nokia introduced the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet, a pocket-sized device able to connect to Wi-Fi hotspots and Bluetooth mobile devices to make internet calls, check Google Mail or Facebook Accounts, watch videos on YouTube, update blogs using the device’s slide-out keyboard along with its touch screen, or find the way using built-in maps and satellite navigation.

With the ability to check emails, read the latest gossip online or IM to friends, share moods on favorite social sites; call via Skype, or get closer by the Gizmo video chat – with the integrated VGA camera – users will never be far away from those they want to keep in contact with.

The N810 has an integrated GPS receiver which allows consumers to pinpoint their position and find a wide variety of points-of-interests using the pre-loaded maps. Upgrade to Wayfinder’s voice-guided navigation for turn-by-turn directions and explore the world on foot or in the car.

The N810 offers up to 45 hours of music playback and memory to store up to 7,500 songs on an optional 10GB memory card. Its large 4.13-inch, 800 x 480 px resolution wide screen makes viewing images easier than traditional devices.

The N810 is powered by maemo Linux based OS2008, updatable also on the Nokia N800, the previous internet tablet generation hardware. The N810 features a customizable user interface and contains Mozilla based browser with Ajax and Adobe flash 9, Bluetooth headset support as well as video and audio features. The refreshed Video Gizmo, Skype and Rhapsody highlight some downloads available while Boingo Wireless, Earthlink and The Cloud enable Wi-Fi connectivity, across thousands of different locations globally.

Nokia N810 Internet Tablet is very exciting for mobile Linux enthusiasts. Significant API changes between Maemo 3.2 and Maemo 4.0 prevent some applications from working on both. Fortunately, the Maemo 4.0 beta SDK has been available for some time now, making it possible for developers to get a head start on updating their applications for compatibility with the new platform.

Nokia and the Maemo community have been working hard to push GTK modifications upstream. Hildon 2.0 – the underlying widget toolkit in Maemo 4.0 – has only a few minor deviations from GTK 2.10, which means that porting desktop GTK applications to the N810 is vastly easier than it has ever been with previous versions. The transition to Maemo 4.0 also adds several new frameworks, including the Cairo vector graphics rendering library and the HAL hardware abstraction layer. According to Maemo 4.0 documentation, HAL manages memory cards, keyboard status, camera status, and the ambient light sensor. This means that third-party application developers will be able to use D-Bus to easily ascertain the current ambient light level and whether or not the keyboard is open or closed. Maemo 4.0 also includes improvements to the theming system and the new extensible, open source Hildon Input Method system.

Nokia’s OS2008 obviously has a lot to offer developers, but there are plenty of improvements that will please end users as well. The new user interface looks great and includes important usability improvements like better finger-based interaction and more flexible desktop widget layout system. GStreamer improvements also provide support for additional multimedia formats. OS2008 also uses Nokia’s new web browser with the Gecko-based MicroB rendering engine.

    Nokia 6101

The Nokia 6101 is a compact camera phone with a clamshell design. By Nokia’s standards, it’s very small.

Nokia are definitely making progress in the physical design of their clamshell phones, and this is a very attractive phone. There are dual colour displays and the keypad is thoughtfully laid out, with a 5-way navigation key and a dedicated camera button.Such a great phone and commendable attempt by Nokia for finally a real flip phone!!Superb features, value for money, stylish and sexy design.

Being able to change your background font color and idle screen colors is an awesome eddition.

Also the ringer Id’s not just caller groups was a brilliant move on Nokia’s part to add ; the FM radio is a godsend when you are outside working or on the go for a walk ; Battery life is good on this phone as well as the reception, having the 850 picks up nearly anywhere; good strong vibrate feature; loud ringtones; DKU 5 data cable makes installing your own games and ringtones a snap; good memory space too.

The phone holds lots of extra ringtones as well as many pre-installed and has voice recorder and video recorder. The camera is a VGA resolution, with the ability to take self-portraits using the external display as a viewfinder.

The camera has a night mode and also functions as a video recorder using the 3GP format. Video quality is normal. Nokia have partnered with Kodak to let you upload your photos to the Kodak website and have them printed and sent to your address. This is a service that you have to pay for.The phones memory is 4.4 Mbytes.Overall the 6101 is a reasonable mid-range camera phone.
