If you’re on the move a lot and need the power of hands-free operation, the LG VX4650 is right up your alley. This handset offers speaker-independent voice recognition, which allows any user to dial a number by speaking the name of a contact from a phone book or by speaking the digits of a phone number. When this voice technology is used with the two-way speakerphone and the prominent speaker, which lets you talk when the clamshell is open or closed, the VX4650 allows for truly hands-free operation.The phone features a traditional clamshell design with a large, 128 x 128 TFT color display with 65,000 colors, as well as a 96 x 64 monochrome supplementary display on the front cover. Most of the phone’s features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset’s control pad. The top right side of the unit houses an antenna, and the USB-capable data and charging port is housed on the unit’s bottom edge. There’s a standard jack to accept universal hands-free headsets, as well as one-touch buttons for volume and speakerphone functions.
